For Man City the champions will play at home for their first match of the season on August 18th against newly promoted Southampton. The first Manchester Derby of the season will be on December 8th at the Etihad with the return leg at Old Trafford on April 6th.
The season unofficially kicks-off with the Community Shield between Chelsea and Manchester City at Villa Park on August 12th which should be a bit of a hot ticket in for the small stadium.
After newly promoted teams Swansea, Norwich, and Queens Park all managed to stay up in the top division for a second season, new boys Reading, Southampton, and West Ham look to do the same when they join the league in August.
If the 2012/13 season comes down to the final weeks yet again, the advantage may once again fall to Manchester City. Their last four matches are all against teams promoted in the last two seasons: West Ham (H), Swansea (A), Reading (A), Norwich (H).
